We Offer Quality Training
Special Care Agency is a DSHS Community Trainer authorized to train and certify Washington State Home Care Aides as well as Residential providers. We provide accredited quality instruction in state-required basic caregiver training and continuing education that qualifies a person to work in a variety of settings including adult family homes, boarding homes. Washington State requires that all Long Term care workers complete a total of 75 hours of DSHS approved Training. The training components are broken down into the following courses:
Orientation: A 2-hour course typically offered by employer.
Safety Training: A 3-hour course.
Core Basics: A 40-hour course consisting of classroom instruction and hands on skills training. This course teaches the basic knowledge and skills needed to assist in providing high-quality care.
Population Specific: A 30-hour course consisting of three different population specific curriculums: Dementia (10-hours), Mental Health (10-hours) and Developmental Disabilities (10-hours). * You will not be able to print the manuals, only the tests will print.

Continuing Education (CE): DSHS approved 10-hour Continuing Education courses specific to both the Senior population and those with developmental disabilities.
Basic Adult CPR/First Aid/BBP: This course meets all OSHA/L&I requirements. Certification is valid for 2 years.
